CE marking - Gain access to the European Union marketplace
CE marking is a mandatory legal conformity requirement for all products sold within the European Union that fall within the scope of a CE marking Directive.
By affixing a CE marking to a product and signing the Declaration of Conformity, a product supplier is declaring to the EU authorities that the minimum requirements of all applicable directives have been met. Depending on the Directive, involvement of a European Union ‘Notified Body’ may be mandatory for certain types of products (i.e. medical devices).
CE marking assures your product to enter the European Union and allows free movement throughout the nearly 30 countries that make up the European Economic Area, giving you direct access to a market of over 500 million consumers.
TÜV SÜD is an EU Notified Body authorised to evaluate product compliance within the requirements of most EU Directives and Regulations. Our testing services span the complete range of requirements for product acceptance in the EU, against the essential requirements of the Directives. Details can be found here.
