TÜV SÜD Becomes EPA recognized Certification Body to certify small network equipment for the ENERGY STAR program
On September 10, 2013, EPA officially announced that TÜV SÜD becomes EPA recognized certification body to certify small network equipment for the ENERGY STAR program. From now on, manufacturers may choose to work with TÜV SÜD to enroll in the CB's supervised or witnessed manufacturers' testing laboratory (S/WMTL) program and to certify product data.
EPA introduced the new program category for Small Network Equipment on 29. August 2013.. The test shall be done at an EPA recognized lab or a CB's supervised or witnessed manufacturers' testing laboratory and the results must be verified by an EPA recognized certification body based on tested data on the actual product. This program mainly covers below products: Broadband Modem, Integrated Access Device (IAD), Optical Network Termination Device (ONT), Access Point, Router and Switch. It put forwards efficiency criteria and power supply requirements for these products.
TÜV SÜD China has local technical team, including auditors, technical certifiers and engineers, to help the manufacturer to enroll the S/WMTL program of TÜV SÜD America to certify small network equipment for the ENERGY STAR program.
