Australia: Industry code published for consumer goods containing button batteries
In July 2016, a new industry code has been developed in Australia to guide all businesses in the supply chain in making decision about button battery (also named as coin or disc battery) safety during product design, selection or sale.
Germany: Germany propose to regulate printing inks on food contact materials
The Printing Ink Ordinance amends the German Ordinance on Consumer Goods. The scope of application of the Draft Ordinance applies to FCM and articles that are printed, for example packaging, napkins, cardboard cups and paper plates.
India: Extension of date for concurrent running of IS 16046:2012 & IS 16046:2015
The extension notice announced for the concurrent running of battery standards IS 16046:2015/IEC 62133:2012 superseding IS 16046:2012/IEC 62133:2002, which was till 16th September 2016, has now been extended till 31st August 2017.
