Armenia has approved a technical regulation on the safety of toys, government decree No. 278-N, 2014. This government decree repeals government decree No. 1551, 2004, and approves the country's new technical regulation which lays down rules on safety requirements for toys, labelling requirements and conformity certification procedures.
The technical regulation applies to all toys intended for children under 14 years of age for the purpose of play and comes into force on 1 March 2015. A variety of products are excluded from the scope of this technical regulation.
Even though Armenia is a member of the Customs Union (CU), Armenia’s regulation and certification are not yet harmonised with CU requirements and Armenia national approval is still required for market access.
