Support business to understand the history of BSCI and recognize the developing aspects of CSR

30.08.2010

At present, more and more factories are facing verification of standards of different social responsibilities, such as BSCI/ETI (SMETA)/SA8000/WRAP and the specific requirements for social responsibilities from various buyers. Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) requires corporations to consistently improve the standards of social responsibility in their worldwide factories by utilizing the BSCI supervision system. To increase awareness of BSCI for manufacturers, to help enterprises understand the BSCI history, and to recognize the development aspects of CSR, TÜV SÜD South China held a special seminar on “Interpretation and Explanation of BSCI provisions” in Shenzhen Grand Skylight Hotel to enhance the manufacturers' understanding of the BSCI standards.

BSCI Seminar

In the afternoon of August 6, 2010, over 50 customers from 20 manufacturers participated in the special seminar held by TÜV SÜD South China in Shenzhen Grand Skylight Hotel on “Interpretation and Explanation of BSCI provisions”. Mr. Zhao, who is the senior auditor for social responsibility in TÜV SÜD South China, gave a detailed explanation to the customers present. His topic covered the background and the developing trend of the BSCI, the requirements of BSCI standards, the similarities and differences between BSCIB standards and other standards of social responsibility. He also unwound the various problems the companies had encountered during the actual operation process. During the seminar, the clients listened carefully to the lecturer and discussed with him and other clients, creating a warm atmosphere. All the clients present benefited a lot from the seminar. TÜV SÜD will, as it always did, continue to help Chinese manufacturers to enhance their social responsibility.
