Sharing Session on "Low-carbon manufacturing" and greenhouse gas inventory
30.08.2010
Low-Carbon has become a hot topic and is now one of the essential conditions for enterprises to survive and to enhance the competitiveness. Chinese National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Finance have jointly put forth the "Chinese carbon taxation system framework design," planning to implement a carbon taxation system in 2012. However, many enterprises are still disregarding how to implement and develop the “low-carbon manufacturing” in order to seize market opportunity. With this in mind, TÜV SÜD, Hong Kong Productivity Council and Federation of Hong Kong Industries have jointly organized the "sharing session on low-carbon manufacturing" and the greenhouse gas inventory in Guangzhou on August 20, 2010.

A total of 82 representatives from 35 companies attended this sharing session. Ken Wu, an audit expert of TÜV SÜD presented a vivid introduction on the provisions of ISO14064-1 system, the gas inventory process and the tools needed in the process. Lee Quo Zhi, an advisor of Hong Kong Productivity Council, made a detailed explanation on the status and development of carbon emission reduction policy. As a hot topic now, environmental protection and low-carbon manufacturing caused considerable public concern. The participants took this opportunity to put forward their opinions, and to discuss with the two lecturers on how to make use of relevant systems and process to achieve low-carbon manufacturing and carbon emission reduction.
