TÜV SÜD do Brasil has been approved by Brazil's main national accreditation body, INMETRO (National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology), as a certification body for household appliances, automotive components and wheels. TÜV SÜD Brazil has thus expanded the scope of its existing INMETRO accreditations covering certification of toys, medical devices and tyres. "The wider scope of our INMETRO accreditation now enables us to offer even more comprehensive support to manufacturers that wish to place their products on the Brazilian market", emphasises Sergio Mello, CEO of TÜV SÜD do Brasil.
Products manufactured in or imported to Brazil need a certificate issued by an approved certification body that confirms that a product is in conformity with Brazil's national regulations. “Manufacturers benefit from our experience in the testing and registration of products and our in-depth knowledge of Brazil's regulations, which enable certification to be carried out quickly and cost-effectively”, explains Sergio Mello.
At present, TÜV SÜD offers support in all aspects of INMETRO certification. In addition to factory inspection and technical testing of products, the experts can provide assessment of the manufacturer's required legal representative on-site in Brazil. Market entry may involve further requirements which vary according to the product group involved. TÜV SÜD's product professionals also provide expert advice on these requirements.
