Introducing functional safety and influence of TÜV SÜD
What Functional Safety requires is ensuring safety for controlled devices to avoid harm to personnel or the environment in case of hardware random or systematic failure of whatever components or safety-related control system.
In the past four decades, functional safety concept and its technology has continuously developed to become an effective measure for society, industries and enterprises to control catastrophic accidents, finding wide application in all aspects of industries worldwide.
In 1970s, TÜV SÜD established the world's first functional safety professional services team and many TÜV SÜD experts had already provided reliability and safety assessment services for German and global cars, track and process industry; in 1999, they initiated and launched the global FSCP training that aims at certifying professionals and their functional safety knowledge and ability, developing related functional safety talents for industries and enterprises.
TÜV SÜD global functional safety services now involve training, certification, testing, knowledge services, inspection and audit, covering various security-related fields such as automotive electronics, industrial safety components, factory automation, process industries, nuclear instrumentation, track traffic signals and smart grids.
