On 16th August, 2017, The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology published Notification on the Gazette of India to mandate additional 13 items of devices subject to BIS CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme) based on current 30 regulated types of products.
These new products include LED luminaries, inverters, televisions, CCTV cameras, adaptors, smart watches etc. This Notification enters into force in six months from the date of publication which will be 16th of February 2018. As known already, CRS requires testing to be done in BIS recognized lab after which followed by the registration process. Only local representative is allowed to submit the registration application to BIS.
TÜV SÜD South Asia lab is already recognized to most of the current regulated products listed in the 1st and 2nd phase.
