On 16 February 2016, the Official Journal of European Union (OJEU) published the Regulation (EU) No 2016/217 to amend cadmium and its compounds in paints with TARIC codes  and  under EU REACH Annex XVII entry 23. The limit value of cadmium in paint is revised to 0.01% by weight. The scope of restriction is now covering the paint which is placed on the EU market (i.e. included imported paints). This new amendment will apply from 8 March 2016.
This amendment is applicable to mixtures only. Table A compares the previous and current restriction of the entry 23 for cadmium in paint.
