Increasing global demand for the safe and reliable transport of people and goods has created new challenges for rail operators in Turkey. During these days four main factors are critical: reliability, availability, maintainability and safety.
With these aspects in mind TÜV SÜD hosted a conference for rail industry experts in the Turkish capital Istanbul on 8 April 2015. TÜV SÜD experts and representatives from Istanbul University Faculty of Engineering and the Republic of Turkey - Directorate General of Railway Regulation discussed with about 80 Turkish and international rail experts about “The future of Turkish railway: new regulations, new challenges, new solutions”.
The presented topics ranged from an overview of the current situation in the Turkish market and latest regulatory requirements up to latest technical innovations and information on safety, quality and sustainability aspects in the railway business.
