TÜV SÜD, the German testing, inspection, auditing and certification giant, today, launched their hardlines testing laboratory in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. The laboratory, expanded within the existing facility is fully equipped with world class services to cater to the hardlines testing needs of the manufacturers and exporting companies. Consumer products such as furniture, candles, toys, jewellery, stationery, tableware and decorative items will be tested in the laboratory for their quality and safety compliance.

TÜV SÜD has been commissioned by E.ON Climate & Renewables to provide periodic inspection services at E.ON’s two offshore wind farms, Amrumbank West and Arkona. The two parks have 140 turbines with a combined capacity of 687 MW. Inspections will be conducted in accordance with the specifications of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency of Germany (BSH).

Instead of exclusively providing on-site face-to-face training, TÜV SÜD now also offers online training which allows students to study at their own pace. Acting on behalf of Spanish civil engineering and consulting firm ESTEYCO, TÜV SÜD is supporting the design and development of an innovative foundation for offshore wind-energy turbines in the ELISA and ELICAN projects funded by the European Union. A pilot turbine was installed off the eastern coast of Gran Canaria in June 2018. TÜV SÜD experts have accompanied the project from design examination to pilot-turbine installation.

Holger Lindner (50) is the new CEO of the Product Service Division at TÜV SÜD. The Product Service Division focuses on providing testing and certification services aimed at ensuring quality, reliability, and marketability of products in the consumer goods, food, medical, industrial, energy and transport sectors. Lindner succeeds Dirk Eilers, who is retiring. Holger Lindner is based in Singapore.
