TÜV SÜD has been commissioned by E.ON Climate & Renewables to provide periodic inspection services at E.ON’s two offshore wind farms, Amrumbank West and Arkona. The two parks have 140 turbines with a combined capacity of 687 MW. Inspections will be conducted in accordance with the specifications of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency of Germany (BSH).

Festive events marked the start of TÜV SÜD’s new Digital Academy in India and Singapore. Instead of exclusively providing on-site face-to-face training, TÜV SÜD now also offers online training which allows students to study at their own pace. Germany-based TÜV SÜD Academy is invested in the project, providing strategic support and technical know-how. India and Singapore benefit from the proven expertise and experience of the large-scale training specialist.

Acting on behalf of Spanish civil engineering and consulting firm ESTEYCO, TÜV SÜD is supporting the design and development of an innovative foundation for offshore wind-energy turbines in the ELISA and ELICAN projects funded by the European Union. A pilot turbine was installed off the eastern coast of Gran Canaria in June 2018. TÜV SÜD experts have accompanied the project from design examination to pilot-turbine installation.

On July 3rd, TÜV SÜD, one of the world’s leading TIC companies, announced that LG Display had been awarded accreditation as qualified testing laboratory for OLED lighting panels. Using this qualification, the company plans to strengthen its rapidly growing OLED lighting business.

Holger Lindner (50) is the new CEO of the Product Service Division at TÜV SÜD. The Product Service Division focuses on providing testing and certification services aimed at ensuring quality, reliability, and marketability of products in the consumer goods, food, medical, industrial, energy and transport sectors. Lindner succeeds Dirk Eilers, who is retiring. Holger Lindner is based in Singapore.

TÜV SÜD will support the realization of the new offshore wind farms, Danish Kriegers Flak in the Baltic Sea off Denmark and Vesterhav Nord and Vesterhav Syd in the North Sea. The contract, placed by Vattenfall, covers certification of the design and manufacturing phases as well as of transport, installation and commissioning

TÜV SÜD will be present at the Automotive Testing Expo, held at Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre from 5–7 June, to offer a broad range of services for vehicle development.
