The EN 9100:2016 standard builds on the DIN ISO 9001 quality management standard and requires a fully traceable recording process across the entire supply chain of a product. Companies also need to define their interfaces with customers and aviation authorities and establish, perform and document verification and validation activities. TÜV SÜD and Hamburg-based company Mankiewicz Gebr. & Co. represent an example of an exceptionally good certification process.
